If you know how to use console , ie, ` key in game , just type in something similar to the example replacing x with the key you want and vsay you want .

It will then stay . It is a little less elegant than typing into notepad and adding to your config but it works just as well . Have a look at etqw for newbies , there is a lot of info there for scripting/configs etc . It isn't actually that difficult if you can open notepad and type :)

4.Close the the autoexec.txt and rename autoexec.cfg

5.Put this autoexec.cfg in

6. Now start the game and press uparrow if you want more chatlines just
take the cfg rename it to txt put the chat lines you like again rename it in cfg and bla bla bla

Or the easy way if you have only 3 binds to make is to type each of those lines into the console when in game , I assume you know how to get to the console by using the tilde key (or ctrl-alt-tilde if you haven't used seta com_allowConsole "0")

But putting them in autoexec.cfg is better and now you know where it is .................. the world is your oyster :)

You probably have reload bound to an easily accessible key , so now you can think of using that same key to stroy down (add health) when you are strogg only .

Substitute x for your preferred key and put in your etqw binds and/or autoexec then x will reload when GDF and stroydown when Strogg. You must put the "" marks as above so thats

Right, there is not meant to be a space between tea and the m but when I go to edit it there isn't one there but there is when I save it. Weird . It has to be Trieb's fault . Or else some weird OMS forum formatting rule. Or maybe it's the strogg. No idea what that is all about :rolleyes:

The easiest way to make an autoexe.cfg file is to copy a file that has file extension .cfg in your ID folder to another location , open it with notepad or wordpad and delete everything in it and rename it autoexec.cfg .(or just autoexec so long as it still has the .cfg extension) Then put what you want in there using wordpad or notepad and when your are done copy it back to your name folder in the base folder. If you type a load of stuff into notepad or wordpad and save it it will be saved as a .txt file which wont work.

REMEMBER TO MAKE A BACK UP COPY OF ANYTHING YOU ARE GOING TO CHANGE FIRST :d

Think is is slightly different directory for XP and vista and probably win 7 but somewhere in either user/my documents/id software/ETQw/base/playername or user/documents/ID software/etqw/base/playername
